1. NCC, Cortland Paint Salem Red

The 2023 NCAA Division III football title is on the line tonight as defending national champion North Central (Ill.) takes on Cortland in Salem, Va., in the 50th Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl.

The No. 1 ranked Cardinals won the 2022 Stagg Bowl with a 28-21 victory over Mount Union. NCC is back in the final after wins over Belhaven (65-0), #6 Trinity TX (71-28), #4 UW-La Crosse (55-42) and #3 Wartburg (34-27).

This is the Red Dragons’ first appearance in the national final. Cortland defeated #14 Endicott (23-17), #18 Grove City (25-24), #13 Alma (58-41) and #8 Randolph-Macon (49-14) in their journey to Salem.
