The third time might be a charm for the final four teams standing in the NCAA DIII Men’s Basketball Championship, as the NESCAC and the UAA will each have a representative in the final in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Just about 26 miles separate Wesleyan and Trinity in the heart of Connecticut and the Cardinals and the Bantams will square off in a rubber match in one semifinal, while the Bears look to take the biggest one of three matchups with the Violets.

Defending national champion NYU extended its winning streak to 60 to advance to the 2025 NCAA DIII Women’s Basketball Championship.
The Violets will meet Wisconsin-Stout in one semifinal, while Smith and Wisconsin-Oshkosh will tangle in the other on Thursday in Salem, Va.

3. La Crosse Men, MIT Women Capture Crowns

Behind the strength of four gold-medal performances, the Wisconsin-La Crosse men won a third consecutive DIII men’s indoor track and field title and set a DIII record in the process with 84 team points. MIT rode gold-medal efforts from Alexis Boykin in the shot and weight throw to hold off Washington U. for the team title on the women’s side.
UWL’s Sam Blaskowski was a double-winner in the 60 and 200, while teammates Cael Schoemann (800) and Grant Matthai (5,000) also brought home gold for the Eagles. Lauren Jarrett won both sprint events (60, 200), while Wilmington’s Faith Duncan doubled up with wins in the 3K and 5K.

For the first time in championship history, two teams tied for the title at the 2025 DIII Wrestling Championships in Providence, R.I.
Johnson & Wales and Wartburg share the championship, each registering 83.5 team points. Augsburg placed third with 74 points, while Baldwin Wallace (69) and UW-La Crosse (65) rounded out the top five. It is also the first time since 1994 that a school other than Wartburg and Augsburg has won the national team championship.

5. Chalk For Men, Not So Much For Women
While the first-round of the DIII men’s ice hockey championship went almost according to form, it was a wild and wacky night for the women as three higher seeds went by the wayside.
Elmira GK Sara Sevcikova had the performance of the weekend, turning aside 40 Plattsburgh shots in a 1-0 triumph over the #5 Cardinals. Amy Laskowski had two goals and an assist to power #16 Nazareth past #6 Endicott, 4-2. And #10 St. Norbert survived being outshot, 46-13, to down #7 Gustavus Adolphus, 3-1, as Keira Markell made 45 saves.

🗞️ Baseball. Methodist University head coach Tom Austin became the second active and sixth all-time DIII coach to win 1,300 games when the Monarchs downed William Peace, 12-5, on Friday.
🗞️ News. Colorado College will opt in to the proposed terms of the House v. NCAA settlement. "It is important at Colorado College that we plan and position ourselves in a way that align with our academic, competitive and student support focus,” said director of athletics Lesley Irvine.
